American Idol alum Zachariah Smith to perform Feb. 7 at Mitchell Opera House

MITCHELL — Country music artist Zachariah Smith, a top-five finalist from Season 21 of American Idol, will perform live at the Mitchell Opera House on Friday, Feb. 7. The concert begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:15 p.m.

Smith has emerged as a rising presence in country music, gaining attention for his high-energy performances, powerful vocals, and emotionally driven songwriting. Since his appearance on American Idol, he has been working in Nashville and collaborating with a range of established songwriters and producers, including Grammy Award winners and nominees from across the country, pop and R&B music scenes.

His career has included opportunities to share the stage with artists such as Lionel Richie, Pitbull, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon, and the band Foreigner during its farewell tour. Smith has also performed at venues including the Nashville Amphitheater, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Honeywell Center, where a hometown show sold out the 1,700-seat venue.

In 2024, Smith hosted the ICMAs at the Grand Ole Opry House and performed his original song “Rainy Days.” He is also set to serve as a judge for Season 2 of Sound of Small Town America, a country music competition whose winner will perform at the Grand Ole Opry House this summer. In January 2025, Smith co-wrote the song “Dream Again” with Matt Hammitt, former lead singer of the band Sanctus Real.

At 21 years old, Smith balances his growing music career with family life as a husband and stepfather, a perspective that has shaped much of his songwriting and connection with fans.

Tickets for the concert are $25 for adults, with free admission for children 12 and under. E-tickets are available at mitchelloperahouse.com or through the Humanitix event page. Tickets may also be purchased with cash or check at ACE in Mitchell, or at the box office the night of the event using cash, check, or card.

The Mitchell Opera House is handicap accessible. Food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium, and seating is first-come, first-served.
