Orleans American Legion Post #69 again provides midway and financial contributions for annual Dogwood Festival

ORLEANS — The Orleans American Legion Post No. 69 will once again play a key role in the annual Orleans Dogwood Festival, continuing a partnership that dates back to the early to mid-1970s.

For decades, Legion members have provided the carnival midway for the town’s signature spring event, a tradition that remains in place for the 56th Annual Dogwood Festival, scheduled for April 18–25. The Legion will again bring in Funtime Carnival of Harrison, Ohio, which will set up and operate throughout the nine-day festival.

In addition to supplying the midway, the American Legion contributes financially to the festival each year, helping offset costs associated with hosting the community celebration.

The 2026 Dogwood Festival will carry the theme “America 250: 1776–2026,” recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The Orleans Chamber of Commerce is also seeking additional community partners to help sponsor this year’s festival. Businesses or organizations interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities are encouraged to contact the Chamber office at 812-865-9930.

The Dogwood Festival remains one of Orleans’ most anticipated annual events, drawing residents and visitors alike for a week of entertainment and community activities each spring.
