White River Humane Society announces 2026 Bone Appetit fundraiser, sponsorships available

BEDFORD — The White River Humane Society will host its largest annual fundraiser, Bone Appetit, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds, with proceeds supporting animal care and shelter operations in Lawrence County.

Bone Appetit serves as the primary fundraising event for the nonprofit, which provides shelter, daily care, and medical treatment for lost, abandoned, and homeless animals. The event also supports community services such as spay and neuter assistance programs, which the organization says are critical to reducing pet overpopulation. In 2025, Bone Appetite raised over $36,000 for the Humane Society while providing a night of wonderful entertainment, food, and social interaction.

The evening will include dinner, entertainment, and both silent and live auctions. Attendees will also receive a community update highlighting the organization’s recent accomplishments and future goals. Auction items are expected to include donated goods, services, gift cards, and travel experiences.

White River Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is not fully funded by taxpayer dollars. Officials say community support and fundraising efforts like Bone Appetit are essential to maintaining shelter operations and lifesaving programs.

The organization is currently seeking event sponsorships. Contributions must be received by March 31, 2026, to allow time for event planning and promotion.

Several sponsorship levels are available for businesses and organizations, ranging from $500 to $2,500. Sponsorship benefits include recognition in the event program, acknowledgment on social media and the organization’s website, and reserved seating depending on the sponsorship level.

White River Humane Society serves Lawrence County and relies on public support to continue its mission of caring for animals in need. More information about the organization and its programs is available through its website.
