MITCHELL — Following a historic season of musical achievement, the Mitchell Band Boosters have officially launched their 2026-2027 sponsorship drive, calling on the community to help sustain the program’s momentum.

A Year of Historic Milestones
The Mitchell Jr./Sr. High School Band program is coming off a series of unprecedented successes. For the first time in school history, the Marching Band advanced to the ISSMA Scholastic State Finals.
Other notable achievements from this past year include:
- Junior High Excellence: The Junior High Band earned a Gold Rating at the ISSMA District Assessment, a milestone that had not been reached in several years.
- Individual Honors: Numerous students were selected for All-Region and All-District Honor Bands, while multiple students earned Gold and Silver ratings at the ISSMA Solo & Ensemble competitions.
Funding the Future
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Mitchell Band Boosters aim to ensure that no student faces out-of-pocket expenses to participate in the program. To maintain this “no-cost” goal, the organization has released its projected expenses for the 2026-2027 season, totaling several thousand dollars:
| Item Name | Total Cost |
| Music Licensing | $2,500 |
| Props & Equipment | $2,500 |
| Transportation (Students & Trailer) | $2,000 |
| Competition Fees | $1,500 |
| Band Camp | $1,500 |
| Performance Meals | $1,500 |
| Color Guard Uniforms | $1,000 |
How the Community Can Help
The Boosters are inviting local businesses, parents, and “friends of the arts” to partner with them through various sponsorship levels or direct donations. Because of the organization’s nonprofit status, all contributions are 100% tax-deductible.
While donations are accepted year-round, the Boosters are requesting that contributions for the upcoming season be submitted by May 15, 2026, to allow for proper planning and preparation.
You can send your donations to Mitchell Band Booster, 1000 West Bishop Blvd, Mitchell IN, 47446. Cash or checks are accepted. Any questions or sponsor logos can be emailed to mitchellbandboosters25@gmail.com.
“These accomplishments would not be possible without the incredible support of our community,” the Boosters stated in their appeal. “Together, we can keep the music playing and help our students reach new heights”.
