INDIANAPOLIS – Foster Success is asking the community to step up to help teens and young adults exiting foster care as the organization faces sudden, significant government cuts. Foster Success recently learned it must reduce its budget by more than $600,000 due to federal and Indiana government funding loss.

“These cuts will significantly impact the resources and support that we provide to Indiana’s older foster youth,” said Foster Success President and CEO, Dr. Maggie Stevens. “While this has created some uncertainty for our team, we are committed to showing up to support our older foster youth in all the ways they need support, but we can’t do it without the community stepping in to close these funding gaps.”

Foster Success provides support through programs and resources that allow young people to be educated, housed, financially stable, employed, and connected to a support system by their 26th birthday.
“Our partners across Indiana continually show up when we need them and this is one of those moments,” said Stevens. “We hope that all Hoosiers will open their hearts and generously invest in our work to support these young people who don’t have anyone else to rely on.”
Foster Success is the only organization in Indiana exclusively supporting teens and young adults transitioning out of foster care.
“They need your support now, more than ever,” said Stevens. “You can support Foster Success with a donation. Donations help Foster Success to continue showing up for young people. Please visit fostersuccess.org to let these young people know they aren’t alone.”
Foster Success can provide a state tax credit of up to $10,000 to any qualifying donor or organization for their gift.
“Beyond financial support, I hope that you will share this message with your friends, family, and others in your community to expand the reach of Foster Success,” said Stevens. “While this is not the year-end message we had planned to send, together, we will end the year strong and hit the ground running for older foster youth in 2026.
