Spring Mill’s Pioneer Village transforms into a Christmas Wonderland

MITCHELL – Spring Mill State Park is bringing Christmas magic back to the Pioneer Village for its annual “Holiday in the Village” celebration on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday, Dec. 6.

The beloved two-day event runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, giving families plenty of time to step into a Christmas scene straight out of the 1800s. Santa will be waiting inside the historic Tavern both days, offering kids a candy cane and the chance to pick a toy from his toy box.

Friday’s schedule includes live music from the Bedford Dulcimer Society in the Weavers Summer Kitchen and The Creekside Band performing inside the Grist Mill from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Santa will stay in the Tavern until 8:45 p.m. Cookies and hot wassail will be served at 6:30 p.m. while supplies last.

On Saturday, the Bedford Dulcimer Society returns to the Weavers Summer Kitchen, and Wildflowers and Weeds will fill the Grist Mill with music from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Santa will once again be in the Tavern from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and again from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. Cookies and hot wassail will be served at 6:30 p.m., also while supplies last.

Visitors are encouraged to check out the Campground Drive-Thru Holiday Lights, a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of Spring Mill. Admission is $5 cash only.

Holiday in the Village is one of Spring Mill’s most cherished traditions, offering families a chance to slow down, enjoy live music, sip warm wassail, and wander through lantern-lit cabins that look just as they did more than a century ago.
