Twin Lakes Recreation Center seeks volunteer youth basketball coaches

BLOOMINGTON The Twin Lakes Recreation Center (TLRC) is actively seeking volunteer coaches for the upcoming Winter 2026 season of Bloomington Youth Basketball. Those interested in helping coach the next generation of players must register by the deadline: Friday, January 2.

No prior coaching experience is necessary, and the program provides a flexible schedule for volunteers.

Teams practice once a week, and coaches have the flexibility to choose a practice time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The season runs from January 26 to March 12, 2026.

All practices and games will be held at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center, located at 1700 W. Bloomfield Road in Bloomington.

The league offers coed play through Grade 3. Starting in Grade 4, a separate girls-only league will be introduced. The Winter 2026 season will also introduce a Boys Middle School League, dependent on registration numbers.

All volunteer coaches are required to attend a mandatory coaches’ meeting and player draft, scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center.

If you are interested in volunteering to coach, please contact Emily Buuck at parksvol@bloomington.in.gov for registration information.

Coaches who have already registered for the Winter 2026 season do not need to take any further action.
