ODON – Emergency crews swiftly responded to a mobile home fire Tuesday morning at 301½ South Sycamore Street in Odon.
The call came in just after 10:00 a.m., reporting smoke visible from the back of the residence. Firefighters from the Odon Volunteer Fire Department, aided by Madison Township crews and Daviess County EMS, quickly arrived on the scene.
Fortunately, all occupants inside the home were able to evacuate before the arrival of the fire crews, and no injuries were reported in the incident.
Firefighters observed heavy white smoke upon arrival and suspected the blaze may have originated in the ceiling area of the home. As a precautionary measure, power to the residence was disconnected, and Duke Energy was called in to assist with safety protocols.
Crews successfully contained and extinguished the fire, with all units clearing the scene shortly after 11:00 a.m.
