WASHINGTON – The Smithville Charitable Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation (DCEDC) to launch a significant new countywide signage project. The funds will be used for the first phase of a gateway and wayfinding signage initiative, beginning with a new entry sign for the City of Washington.

The project is a collaborative effort, led by the DCEDC in partnership with the Daviess County Visitors Bureau and the City of Washington. Its core goals are to improve navigation, enhance safety, and strengthen community identity throughout Daviess County.
The new Washington gateway sign will be a key component, serving as the pilot model for all future wayfinding signage to be installed throughout the county.
