INDIANA – Good news for holiday budgeters: the average cost of a real Christmas tree, typically between $80 and $100 for a 6-foot tree, is projected to remain stable for the 2025 season.

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), Americans spend over $900 on Christmas each year, including gifts, food, decorations, and a tree.
A new annual survey by the Real Christmas Tree Board, which includes 43 wholesale tree growers, indicates that 84% of growers plan to maintain their wholesale prices for the upcoming season. While 42% of growers reported a cost increase of up to 5%—mirroring last year’s change—it appears growers are largely absorbing these increases rather than passing them on to retailers.
“Growers are prepared, supply is strong, and most are holding wholesale prices steady this year,” stated Marsha Gray, Executive Director of the Real Christmas Tree Board.

Furthermore, supply looks robust, with nearly 8 in 10 growers (79%) expecting to sell the same number of trees or more compared to last year. This strong industry commitment suggests there will be a real Christmas tree available for everyone who wants one.
