Purdue Extension announces Area 2 Pesticide Applicator Program for November 6

SOUTH-CENTRAL INDIANA—Purdue Extension is hosting the Area 2 Pesticide Applicator Program on Thursday, November 6, 2025, providing an opportunity for private and commercial applicators to obtain required recertification credits. The program is being offered at three different locations and times across Crawford, Washington, and Scott Counties to accommodate local applicators.

The program is free of charge, thanks to sponsorship from the Indiana Corn Marketing Council and the Indiana Soybean Alliance, which support this checkoff investment.

Recertification Credits Available

Participants who attend one of the sessions will receive both Private Applicator Recertification Program (PARP) credit and Commercial Applicator Continuing Certification Hour (CCH) credit.

Applicable CCH credits include:

  • 3 CCH Credits for the Registered Technician (CAT RT) category.
  • 2 CCH Credits for Category 1 (Agricultural Pest Management) and Category 11 (Aerial Application).
  • 1 CCH Credit for multiple categories, including: CAT 2, 3A, 3B, 4, 5, 6, 7A, 7B, 7D, and 8.

Program Topics and Speakers

The training will cover essential regulatory and technical topics critical for applicators:

  • OISC Update and Regulatory Topic: Presented by Nathan Davis and Mitch Trimble, employees of the Office of the Indiana State Chemist (OISC).
  • Row Crop Weed Management and Optimizing Spray Drones: Led by Tommy Butts, a Purdue Weed Science Specialist.

Event Schedule and Locations

Applicators only need to attend one program to earn credit. RSVP is appreciated by Monday, November 3, 2025, but is not required.
