Bedford Police Department offering $10,000 sign-on bonus for new officers

BEDFORD – The Bedford Police Department is inviting qualified men and women to join the city’s police force and “make a lasting difference” in the community.

With a starting salary of $66,258.14 and a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, the department is seeking applicants who are ready to serve and protect while building a meaningful career in law enforcement.

Officers with the Bedford Police Department receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid vacation, holidays, and sick time. Additional benefits include a take-home car program, gym reimbursement, longevity pay, a uniform and equipment allowance, and participation in the INPRS 1977 pension plan.

Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years of age, possess at least a GED or high school diploma, and successfully complete an aptitude test, physical agility test, psychological evaluation, and criminal background investigation.
