Taste of Autumn: Bloomington Farmers’ Market celebrates fall harvest with apple tasting and live music

BLOOMINGTON —The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market (BCFM) is inviting the public to “Savor the Flavor of Fall” this Saturday, October 4th, with a market full of seasonal bounty, live music, and a special Apple Taste event.

The market is currently brimming with the best of autumn’s harvest, including crisp apples, sweet winter squash, and hearty root vegetables—all grown by local farmers.

Discover Your New Favorite Apple

This weekend, the BCFM will host a special Apple Taste event, encouraging visitors to explore the rich variety of apples grown locally. Shoppers will have the chance to sample unique and heirloom types not typically found in grocery stores.

Sample sweet, tart, crisp, and juicy apples and discover your new favorites for snacking, baking, or sharing. From bold flavors to unexpected textures, each bite tells a story of local growing traditions and seasonal goodness.

Live Entertainment Lineup

In addition to the produce and artisanal goods, the market will feature two phenomenal local music groups.

Double Standards

Double Standards, comprised of Dena El Saffar (violin), Elias Fisher (acoustic guitar), and Rickie Maxwell (bass), will perform two sets at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Bloomington Peace Choir

The Bloomington Peace Choir, a community choir that welcomes voices from all backgrounds, will perform at 11:30 a.m. Their music repertoire includes American folk, South African freedom songs, and music embracing themes of peace.

The market encourages the community to stroll through the stands, enjoy the vibrant fall atmosphere, and support local farms and sustainable agriculture.
