BEDFORD — Day & Carter Mortuary, which has served the Bedford community since 1889, will host a free dinner and educational workshop on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, to guide families through the four important steps of funeral planning.

The event, set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary, 1133 Lincoln Avenue, will begin with a complimentary dinner followed by a presentation from funeral professionals in a supportive setting. Organizers said the program is designed to give attendees peace of mind and help them plan ahead with confidence.
“There are so many ways advanced planning benefits your family,” said Brooke Horner-Hayes, Co-owner and Funeral Director, on an episode of WBIW’s Talk of the Town, “It can provide incredible peace of mind knowing your loved ones won’t have to deal with many burdens at a difficult time.”
Day & Carter Mortuary has been a part of the Bedford community for more than 135 years, providing funeral, burial, and cremation services for generations of families.
Registration is requested by Sept. 29 due to limited seating. To reserve a spot, call 812-275-3389 or email olivia@daycarter.com.
