MITCHELL — The School Smiles on-site dental program will provide free and affordable dental care to students at several Lawrence County schools in October. The mobile dental team will set up inside schools to deliver services to children whose families have registered in advance.
The program will visit Burris Elementary on Monday, Oct. 6, Hatfield Elementary on Tuesday, Oct. 7, and Mitchell Junior High and High School on Thursday, Oct. 9.

School Smiles accepts Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay rates, while also offering grants through its foundation to ensure no child is turned away. Services include cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays, sealants, restorative care, and free dental supplies.
Parents and guardians can register their children online at schoolsmiles.com/student-signup. The online registration form is available in more than 100 languages. Additional registration details are available on the program’s flyer.
