PAOLI – The Mitchell Jr/Sr High School “Sound of the Swarm” Marching Band made a strong showing at the Pride of Paoli Invitational on Saturday, September 13th, earning a respectable 4th place out of six competing bands. The group’s performance was a highlight of the day, with the Color Guard bringing home the Best Auxiliary award.

Under the direction of Paul Pfeifer, with Color Guard instruction by Elli Carr and Nikki Mitchell, the band showcased their 2024 show, “There’s a Monster Under My Bed.” The performance, featuring original music by Randall Standridge and Mo Longo, captivated both the audience and the judges. Drum Majors Andino Scarfone and Sophia Arvin led the ensemble with precision and flair.

Upcoming Performances
The “Sound of the Swarm” is set to continue its busy season with a performance at the highly anticipated Persimmon Festival Parade on Saturday, September 27th.

Their next competitive performance will be at the Spring Valley Invitational on Saturday, October 4th, where they hope to build on their success from the Paoli event.
