Monroe County Democrats seek community input for new “community living room” office space

BLOOMINGTON — The Monroe County Democratic Party is expanding into a new office space and is seeking community input and donations to transform it into a “community living room.” The party aims to create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive hub for residents.

The vision for the space includes cozy furniture, local artwork, and areas for group meetings and social gatherings. The party envisions the space as a multi-purpose venue for activities such as book clubs, movie nights, game nights, community forums, and civic engagement workshops.

To bring this vision to life, the party is looking for:

  • Artists to help beautify the space with murals, paintings, or other creative touches.
  • Donations of furniture, including couches, coffee tables, lounge chairs, and bookcases.
  • Ideas from the community on how they would like to use the space, such as for community dinners, film screenings, or knitting circles.

The party emphasizes that the space will belong to the entire community and encourages anyone with ideas, art, or furniture to donate to reach out. The grand opening will be announced at a later date.
