COLUMBUS — The Mitchell Jr/Sr High School “Sound of the Swarm” Marching Band competed in the Mid-States Band Association Sound and Spirit of Columbus Invitational on Saturday, September 6, earning a strong third-place finish in Class A against five bands.
The band, directed by Paul Pfeifer, also took home the Best Auxiliary award for its color guard, which Elli Carr and Nikki Mitchell instruct. The drum majors for the show are Andino Scarfone and Sophia Arvin.
The Mitchell Marching Band’s 2025 show, titled “There’s a Monster Under My Bed,” features original music by Randall Standridge and Mo Longo.
The band’s next performance will be at the Pride of Paoli Invitational on Saturday, September 12.
