Protesters rally downtown Bedford, peacefully demanding a higher minimum wage

BEDFORD — Dozens of protesters gathered at the Lawrence County Courthouse to demonstrate against low wages and President Donald Trump.

Resident Jessie Starr shared that protestors came from the community, as well as surrounding communities, and even Cincinnati, Ohio.

Demonstrators lined the streets downtown Bedford with posters calling for higher pay and expressing opposition to Trump.

Protester Kathryn Rose sang to passing cars while tapping on her tambourine.

The protest remained peaceful, with participants chanting and holding signs as passing drivers honked in response.

Local officials did not report any disturbances during the event.
