BEDFORD — The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County will open its after-school programs early today, Wednesday, Aug. 27, to accommodate the first North Lawrence Community Schools early dismissal day of the 2025–26 school year.
Club officials said the process of transporting students from their schools to Club sites will remain the same, and pickup will still be required by 6 p.m. Youth must have an active Club membership and be registered for After School at their location in order to attend.
The Club noted some After School sites currently have waitlists and asked families not to send children who have not been approved off the list. “We are working to come up with solutions so we can serve all youth who need a safe place to be after school each day,” the organization said in a statement.
