Oolitic Town Council raises temporary worker pay in special session

OOLITIC The Oolitic Town Council voted Wednesday to raise wages for temporary and part-time laborers, approving an increase from $10 to $12 per hour.

The decision came during a special meeting at Town Hall, where Council President Brenda Corey introduced Ordinance 10-2025 amending Section 8 of the town’s salary ordinance. Vice President Jon Broglin seconded the measure, and the council unanimously voted in favor.

To expedite the process, members suspended standard rules, allowing the ordinance to be adopted and approved in three readings during the same session. The wage hike will be applied retroactively to the pay period ending Aug. 15.

Council members Steve Kerr and Carl Baker joined Corey and Broglin in approving the ordinance. Clerk-Treasurer Annette Norrick also attended. Councilman John Dillon was absent.
