Indiana State Police investigating death of woman in Mitchell

MITCHELL — The Indiana State Police has launched a death investigation after a woman was found deceased at a residence on Bartlett Drive.

According to an ISP spokesperson, the Mitchell Police Department contacted the state police at approximately 5:02 a.m. this morning to request detectives and crime scene investigators.

According to ISP Sgt. Kevin Getz, the investigation is currently in its early stages.

Bloomington District detectives are scheduled to meet with the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office to discuss the case. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses. No additional information, including the victim’s name or a possible cause of death, is available at this time.
