Drug arrest of Mitchell woman made after traffic stop

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Officer Kenton Carter, officers were advised that a wanted female, later identified as Robbins, would be traveling to an address on West Hancock Avenue. Officers located Robbins in her 2009 Chevrolet Silverado at the specified address and placed her under arrest for the outstanding warrant from Orange County.

During a post-Miranda interview, Robbins admitted to having “a little bit of ‘pot’ or marijuana” and “a little bit of ‘dope'”— which she confirmed was methamphetamine — in her vehicle. After Robbins denied consent for a search, Officer Carter applied for a search warrant, which Judge John Plummer III signed at 6:11 p.m.

The subsequent search of the vehicle located a backpack on the passenger seat. Inside, police found a pencil box containing a glass smoking device, a clear plastic bag with marijuana, four burnt marijuana cigarettes, a silver marijuana grinder, and other drug paraphernalia. A clear container with crystal meth was also found.

Robbins was transported to the Lawrence County Security Center and charged with a Level 6 felony for possession of methamphetamine, a misdemeanor for possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
