WASHINGTON – Emergency crews swiftly responded to a house fire at 814 Jefferson Street in Washington early Thursday morning. The blaze was reported at approximately 7:46 a.m., with the caller confirming visible flames.
Units from the Washington City Fire Department, Washington Police Department, and Daviess County EMS were dispatched to the scene within minutes. Firefighters arrived by 7:49 a.m. and immediately began efforts to contain the fire. Utility crews were also called to the location to cut power to the residence safely.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished by 8:15 a.m. All emergency units cleared the scene shortly thereafter. Authorities reported no injuries as a result of the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released and is currently under investigation.
