Bedford North Lawrence High School announces 2025-2026 Welcome Week details

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) High School is set to host its annual Welcome Week from Monday, July 28, through Friday, Aug. 1, to prepare students for the 2025-2026 school year. All students are invited to complete orientation tasks on their designated class day, entering through the Performing Arts Center (PAC) doors. Schedules, parking passes, locker information, and school photo/ID pictures will be available in the PAC Lobby during Welcome Week.

Welcome Week Schedule


Monday, July 28, 2025 – Freshman Orientation Day: Freshman students and their parents should attend one of three orientation sessions offered at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., or 5:30 p.m. Each session will last 30 minutes and provide essential information and resources for transitioning to high school. Freshmen will also complete orientation tasks either before or after their session.

Tuesday, July 29, 2025 – Senior Day: Seniors can complete orientation tasks from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Wednesday, July 30, 2025 – Junior Day: Juniors can complete orientation tasks from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday, July 31, 2025 – Sophomore Day: Sophomores can complete orientation tasks from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 – Open Day: This day is open for any student who missed their designated day, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Orientation Tasks and Important Information


During Welcome Week, students will be able to pick up their schedules, take school photos for IDs, purchase parking passes, find their lockers, and walk their class schedules. The bookstore will be open for textbook pickup and to complete the Chromebook Agreement Form.

All students must complete their Chromebook Agreement and North Lawrence Community Schools (NLCS) Protection Plan. The NLCS Protection Plan is optional and costs $25. There will be no student rental fees for textbooks or devices. Freshmen and new students will pick up their Chromebooks during their registration day, while upperclassmen students retained their devices over the summer.

Parking passes will be available for purchase at $5 (cash or check). All student drivers must have a parking pass and park in their designated student lot space. Forms will be available during Welcome Week or on the school website. Students also have the option to paint their parking space during Welcome Week.

Online Registration and First Day of School


Back-to-School Online Registration is currently open. All returning NLCS students must complete online returning student registration via the school’s website (by clicking “ENROLL NOW: Returning Student”) or through the PowerSchool parent portal (by clicking “FORMS: Enrollment”). Students new to NLCS need to complete new student registration through the NLCS Website (by clicking “ENROLL NOW: New Student”) and then contact the BNL Office at 812-279-9756 to schedule a registration appointment for enrollment and schedule building.

The first student day for the 2025-2026 school year for all NLCS students is Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025.
