MONTGOMERY – This year’s Turkey Trot is set to bring some serious flavor and excitement with the introduction of its first-ever BBQ cook-off, taking place on Saturday, September 6th, from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Local grill masters are invited to fire up their smokers and showcase their culinary prowess for a chance to win bragging rights and a coveted trophy.
Aspiring pitmasters interested in competing should contact Luke at 812-486-6991. Festivalgoers won’t just be spectators; they’ll also have the opportunity to sample the delicious BBQ creations and cast their vote in the “People’s Choice” category.
Gun Raffle Offers Chance at 22 Firearms
Adding to the weekend’s thrills, the Montgomery Ruritan Club’s popular gun raffle is making a highly anticipated return. This year, only 250 tickets will be sold at $100 each, giving participants a chance to win one of 22 different firearms.
The drawing for the gun raffle will be held on Sunday, September 7th, during the Turkey Trot Demo Derby. Each ticket purchased remains in the drawing for every round, increasing the odds for participants. Please note that all participants must be 18 years or older to enter.
Tickets for the gun raffle can be purchased from any Ruritan Club member or directly at the Ruritan Park Office.
