Bedford adopts single-stream recycling for easier collection

BEDFORD — Recycling in Bedford has become significantly simpler with the official adoption of single-stream recycling by the Bedford Street & Sanitation Department. Residents no longer need to sort their recyclables.

Under the new system, all recyclable materials can be placed together in a single container. Collection will occur every other week on residents’ regular trash pick-up day. Recyclables will be collected using the rear-load trash truck.

Residents are reminded to have their recyclable items at the curb by 6 AM on their designated collection day. This change aims to make going green easier and more convenient for the community.
