Obituary: Jimmy Lee Roach

April 29, 1939 – July 20, 2025

Jimmy Lee Roach, 86, of Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born April 29, 1939, in Lawrence Co., he was the son of James E. and Madylene (Anderson) Roach. He retired from NWSC Crane after 27 years of service as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 and the Moose Lodge #689. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved telling jokes.

Survivors include two sons, Randy (Mel) Roach and James (Shannon) Roach; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Lynette) Roach, Zach (Tiana) Roach, Tasheena (Ryan) Sinclair, Jacob Roach, Hiley Roach, Chastine (Chris) Owens, and Tabitha Webster; seven great-grandchildren, Kelan Roach, Chase Roach, Ayden Webster, Sophia Roach, Faith Daugherty, Zaine Daugherty, and Grant Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his significant other, Carol Kerns Hedrick.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 23rd, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
