Jackson County Fair kicks off today, Presley Hampton crowned queen

BROWNSTOWN – The 2025 Jackson County Fair officially opens its gates today, Monday, July 26, bringing a week of agricultural showcases, entertainment, and community celebration to Brownstown. While the fair officially begins today, pre-fair festivities have already set a celebratory tone, including the annual Fair Queen Pageant.

On Sunday night, Presley Hampton was crowned the 2025 Miss Jackson County Fair Queen, reigning over this year’s events. Her court includes First Runner-Up Kera Wischmeier, Second Runner-Up Audrey Newkirk, and Miss Congeniality Paisleigh Peters.

The popular midway, featuring “Poor Jack Amusements,” is set to welcome fairgoers nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., running through Saturday. For younger visitors, special “Kiddie Days” will be held on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Grandstand promises a thrilling lineup of events throughout the week. Tonight, Monday, July 26, will feature an exciting Monster Truck show. On Tuesday, the roar of engines will return for the much-anticipated Demolition Derby. The week’s entertainment culminates on Friday with a live concert by country music artist Chris Cagle.
