BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington has unveiled “The Front Porch,” a new community events trailer designed to help local neighborhoods and non-profit organizations host successful gatherings, celebrations, and events. This cargo trailer, provided by The City of Bloomington Housing and Neighborhood Development’s neighborhood support services, is stocked with essential items, all available at no cost for eligible groups.

The trailer’s comprehensive inventory includes:
- Event Necessities: A 10’ x 10’ pop-up canopy with weights, six 6’ tables, 24 folding chairs, a Bluetooth speaker with a wireless mic, a 100’ extension cord, a power strip with surge protector, two 52-quart chest coolers, one 10-gallon beverage cooler (for water only), a doggie water bowl, a 36” x 24” A-frame “Welcome Friends and Neighbors” sign, two Bag Buddy frames for trash/recycling bags, 10 trash bags, laminated “trash” and “recycling” signs, name tags and sharpies, a roll of duct tape, a roll of packaging tape with dispenser, and scissors.
- Fun & Games: A corn hole set, a Spikeball set, a Ladderball set, two long jump ropes, three individual jump ropes, and a bucket of sidewalk chalk.
- Safety and Cleanup: Eight safety/traffic cones, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, a broom and dustpan, an all-purpose cleaner spray bottle, and two rolls of paper towels.
The Front Porch is available for use by neighborhood associations, homeowners associations (HOAs), and non-profit community partners that work directly with Bloomington residents and are located within city limits. To ensure eligibility, organizations must pre-register with HAND by completing a simple form.
