INDIANAPOLIS — In response to surging demand for professionals in radiopharmaceuticals and cancer theranostics, Purdue University is launching the nation’s first graduate degree focused exclusively on radiopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Offered in Indianapolis, the program was developed in partnership with SpectronRx, a pharmaceutical company specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes. A new state-of-the-art training facility will be constructed at SpectronRx’s headquarters to provide hands-on training. The program reflects Purdue’s growing impact in biomedical innovation and is expected to help fill a crucial workforce gap in Indiana and beyond.
The graduate degree will prepare students to lead in the manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals used in the diagnosis and treatment of various cancers, including an emerging field known as theranostics.
