WEST LAFAYETTE — Purdue University and its regional campuses have received the Tier 1 Collegiate Purple Star of Indiana Award, the state’s highest recognition for serving military-affiliated students. Bestowed by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, this inaugural honor recognizes Purdue’s comprehensive support systems, from application through graduation.
Alongside Purdue’s main campus, both Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest received the distinction, making Purdue the only four-year university system in Indiana to earn Tier 1 status. The award highlights initiatives such as veteran-specific academic advising, mental health resources, transfer credit accommodations, and on-campus veterans centers.
