Monroe County Democrats seek volunteers for county fair booth outreach

BLOOMINGTON — The Monroe County Democrats will host a vendor booth at this year’s Monroe County Fair, aiming to engage with voters, distribute freebies, and strengthen community connections. The organization is calling for volunteers to help staff the booth and support these “critical conversations.”

A variety of shifts are available, with particular need for coverage during the following times:

  • Tuesday, July 1: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 2: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 3: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Friday, July 4: 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 5: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The booth will be located at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, 5700 West Airport Road in Bloomington.

Volunteers will be responsible for engaging with voters, distributing candy, and fostering community relationships. Free popsicles will be available for both voters and volunteers.

The Monroe County Democrats welcome anyone interested in volunteering, describing it as “a great opportunity to connect with like-minded Democrats and meet new faces while seeing neighbors and friends come through the fair.”
