BLOOMINGTON – Despite sweltering temperatures last Saturday, the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market was abuzz with activity, as vendors and shoppers alike celebrated the summer spirit. Farmers, food artisans, and makers showcased their freshest produce and handcrafted goods, proving that neither heat nor humidity could dampen the vibrant community atmosphere.

Market organizers extended a “huge thank you” to all who “braved the heat to support local growers and small businesses,” emphasizing that this dedication is what keeps the market thriving. “Every tomato, bouquet, and loaf of bread you take home fuels our local economy and helps keep this vibrant gathering going strong,” they noted.
The market is set to return this Saturday, encouraging attendees to come prepared with sun hats, reusable bags, and plenty of water to enjoy another “great Market day.”

Adding to the festive ambiance this Saturday will be resident and accomplished actress and harpist, Erika Stoner. Stoner, who has graced stages in Los Angeles, New York, and Bloomington and featured in commercials for Dunkin Donuts and Honda (with Chuck Norris), will perform two sets at 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Her performances are known for blending traditional Celtic melodies with classic American songs. The “Mayor’s Team at the Table,” a community outreach program designed to connect residents with city officials, will also be present at the market. This week, representatives from the City’s Engineering Department, including Director Andrew Cibor and interns Sam Sparzo and Seneca Simon, will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to answer questions and discuss city-related issues with market-goers.
