Columbus emergency crews and Cummins partner for Disaster Preparedness Exercise this week

COLUMBUS – Columbus emergency workers will be partnering with Cummins this week for a large-scale training exercise at Plant 1 on Central Avenue. The drill is expected to bring a significant number of first responders and equipment to the location.

According to the Columbus Fire Department, the exercise will take place on Thursday, June 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Participants will engage in realistic disaster scenarios, providing both Cummins and the city an opportunity to practice coordinated emergency responses.

Organizers urge the public not to be alarmed by the visible presence of numerous rescue workers, emphasizing that the exercise is designed to enhance operational readiness and foster cooperation and mutual support between the entities.
