BEDFORD – Troy K. Eads, 55, of Bedford, was arrested early on Tuesday, June 3, after allegedly battering a woman during a physical altercation at an apartment on Ted Jones Drive.

According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Bedford Police Officer Chase Hamilton, officers were dispatched around 2:53 a.m. to a report of an ongoing physical fight, with a caller stating a female was being attacked by Eads.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with two women. One told police that she and the other woman had gone to Eads’s apartment. Eads, who had been asleep, reportedly became upset upon realizing one of the women had been at another male’s apartment.
Eads began yelling, then allegedly grabbed one of the women by the neck and threw her to the ground—the other woman left and called 911.
The injured woman did not wish to pursue charges, declined an ambulance, and stated she would not seek medical care, though a photo was taken of the alleged injury area on her neck.
Eads was arrested and transported to the Bedford Police Department for processing. Due to a high level of intoxication, he was taken to IU Health Bedford for medical clearance before being transported to the Lawrence County Jail for housing.
Authorities noted that Eads was already out on bond for other pending criminal charges.
A Probable Cause Affidavit outlines the initial findings and allegations that led to an arrest. Criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
