At approximately 7:56 p.m., Columbus Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to a call at a McCullough Lane home. Upon arrival, they found the technician uninjured but unable to lower himself from the lift bucket.

Due to the significant distance of the lift from the roadway, the fire department’s ladder truck could not be used for the rescue. Firefighters considered several options, including deploying Rope Rescue Technicians up the tree to set up a lowering system.

However, crews first opted for a simpler solution: they followed the emergency release instructions for the lift’s three hydraulic cylinders. This method proved effective, allowing firefighters to bring the stranded man back to the ground safely.
