BEDFORD—The City of Bedford has announced the unveiling of its Hometown Heroes Banner Program, honoring Lawrence County’s active-duty military personnel and veterans. Community members are invited to sponsor personalized banners that will line John Williams Boulevard, starting at Lincoln Avenue and extending westward.

Each banner will feature the honoree’s name and military branch and be displayed through Veterans Day. After the display period, applicants can pick up banners at the Bedford Street Department.
Sponsoring a banner costs $100, which includes design, printing, installation, and removal.
The program is limited to 40 banners, and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Orders must be submitted by June 13, 2025.
To purchase a banner, contact Mikel’s Signs at (812) 277-0000 or email mikelssigns@att.net. A high-quality digital photo of the honoree in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format is required for submission.
Visit the City of Bedford’s website at www.bedford.in.gov for full program details and to access the application form.
