BEDFORD- North Lawrence Community Schools proudly hosted the 1st Annual NLCS Impact Appreciation Summit, a special event designed to honor and celebrate the invaluable contributions of local businesses and their community partners who are helping shape the future of education and workforce development in Lawrence County.

Held over breakfast at the Historical Limestone Building, the summit brought together industry leaders, educators, and key stakeholders to highlight the district’s progress in connecting College and Career Readiness with real-world workforce development opportunities for students.
The event featured an inspiring keynote address by Christian Bloom, titled “Bridging Business & Education,” which emphasized the importance of strong partnerships between schools and employers to build a future-ready workforce.

Attendees were also presented with a program recap highlighting NLCS’s past and present initiatives in student career development, including success stories and updates on innovative programs supported by the district and its partners. The event concluded with a forward-looking discussion on upcoming graduation pathway changes, diploma updates, and the district’s strategic vision for future college and career readiness initiatives.

Special recognition was given to Kylie Gilbertson, NLCS Career Coach, who played a key role in organizing the event. Gilbertson’s position is funded through the ROI (Regional Opportunity Initiatives) Career Coaching Grant, which supports career coaching efforts across the region.
The summit underscored the power of collaboration and the positive impact that intentional, sustained partnerships can have on student success.
NLCS looks forward to building on the momentum of this inaugural event and continuing to foster meaningful connections that benefit both students and the broader community.
