ORLEANS – Orange County will officially kick off its “America 250” celebration on Saturday, June 14th, in historic Congress Square in Orleans. The event coincides with Flag Day and the 250th Anniversary of the U.S. Army.
The celebration is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Attendees can expect a Colonial Fair, a flag-raising ceremony, and costumed reenactors. Special guests, information booths, and various heritage activities will also be part of the festivities.

The Orange County America 250 Committee is sponsoring the event. This kickoff marks the beginning of a year-long observance as the nation prepares to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in 2026. Residents and business owners are encouraged to decorate Orleans in red, white, and blue for the weekend, flying flags and putting up bunting to join the planned festivities.
