ORLEANS – Orleans American Legion Post #69 member Will Terry presents a check for $1,521.72 to Orleans Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Robert Henderson, representing the Legion’s 10% of its earnings from the recent Dogwood Carnival.
This year, legion members contracted with the new Funtime Carnival of Cincinnati, OH, for a successful run. The Orleans Legion has sponsored the carnival, which has been their only “fun-raiser” of the year in conjunction with the annual Dogwood Festival for many years.
Traditionally, local groups conducting fundraisers during Dogwood week contribute back 10% of their profits after paying expenses to help with the cost of keeping the town’s signature event happening every April.
