ODON – The Frank Roberts Youth League (FRYL) in Odon has announced an ambitious fundraising campaign to improve its baseball and softball facilities significantly. The league has secured a $50,000 matching grant through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s “Creating Places” program, offering a unique opportunity to double the impact of local fundraising efforts.

League leader Roger Callahan explained that if the community can collectively raise $50,000 by the July 1st deadline, the state will match that amount, resulting in a total of $100,000 dedicated to enhancing the youth sports complex.
According to Callahan, the much-needed funds will be directed towards several key improvements, including upgrading the aging field lights to ensure better visibility and safety for evening games. The project also aims to improve accessibility for all attendees, enhance the fan experience by installing new bleachers, and revitalize the playing fields to provide optimal playing conditions.

The Frank Roberts Youth League is vital to the Odon community, currently serving 372 children across 40 teams. The league’s operations are heavily reliant on the dedication of over 100 volunteers. Their seven fields, conveniently located adjacent to Odon City Park, serve local youth and host regional tournaments, drawing visitors and economic activity to the area.
To help the Frank Roberts Youth League reach its $50,000 goal and unlock the matching state funds, community members are encouraged to donate and learn more about the project by visiting patronicity.com/FRYLNextLevel or following the Frank Roberts Youth League on Facebook. Every dollar contributed will directly support the effort to provide better facilities for Odon’s young athletes.
