INDIANA– The Indiana Democratic Party is actively recruiting young Hoosiers to participate in its Emerging Leaders Project, a year-long training program to develop future Democratic leaders statewide.

Now accepting applications for its 12th class, the initiative seeks to address what organizers describe as “division, incompetence, and corruption” stemming from Republican leadership in Washington, D.C., and the Statehouse. The program also critiques “bad policies that hurt people, communities, and our collective future” and “Republican leaders that care more about pushing their far-right wing ideology than solving problems.”
The Emerging Leaders Project offers a free, year-long training program for up to 40 individuals aged 21 to 40. Participants will attend a series of conferences in Indianapolis covering key aspects of running for office, public policy, and party building.
The project boasts a successful track record, having helped hundreds of young Democrats become more active in the party and pursue elected office. Alumni include state legislators, countywide elected officials, municipal officeholders, and Democratic Party leaders at the local and district levels.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply or recommend someone for the program before the July 15th deadline. The Indiana Democratic Party’s website has more information and application details, as well as a list of program alumni.
