Radius Indiana CEO Jeff Quyle honored as Outstanding Trail Advocate for Monon South Trail

INDIANA – Jeff Quyle, CEO and President of Radius Indiana, has been named the Greenways Foundation of Indiana’s Outstanding Trail Advocate for 2024. The award recognizes Quyle’s dedicated work and advocacy in bringing the Monon South Trail to fruition in southern Indiana.

Quyle received the honor at the Greenways Foundation Trails Celebration luncheon on Friday in Indianapolis. He has been deeply involved in the 60-mile Monon South Trail project since its early planning stages in 2021. This trail, set to be the longest of its kind in southern Indiana, will connect Mitchell to New Albany, linking several communities along the way.

His nomination highlighted Quyle’s “visionary leadership” and ability to coordinate the complex project, noting that “without Jeff’s tireless promotion of the South Monon Trail…none of this would be possible.”

Construction on the first 20-mile phase of the trail began in 2024. Sections in Orleans and Mitchell are already open, and the Borden section is slated to open on May 2. Quyle emphasized the collaborative effort behind the project, stating, “The award today is a tribute to all of them!”

Beyond recreation, Quyle has focused on supporting local businesses along the trail. The Greenways Foundation projects that the completed Monon South Trail will generate an annual economic impact of $8.5 million and $1.1 million in new tax revenue.

The Monon South Trail is a part of Indiana’s Next Level Trails program, which has invested $180 million in trail development statewide since 2018. The state provided $29.5 million for the Monon South Trail, with Radius Indiana overseeing its development.
