Spark innovation this summer: Camp Invention Scholarship applications now open at Lincoln Elementary

BEDFORD – Exciting news for families in the Bedford area! Lincoln Elementary School is thrilled to announce that scholarship applications are now being accepted for its highly anticipated Camp Invention program this summer. This marks the 10th year that Lincoln Elementary has hosted this engaging and educational summer camp.

Camp Invention 2025, themed “Discover,” will take place from June 23 to 27, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary School, located at 2014 F Street, Bedford, IN 47421. Care is available for families needing extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee of $100 per child.

The program offers enriching STEM experiences for students in kindergarten through 6th grade for $275, before discounts, and for students in 7th through 9th grade for $175.

This year’s Camp Invention promises an all-new, one-of-a-kind summer adventure designed to ignite young innovators’ curiosity and build confidence through exciting, hands-on challenges. Campers will have limitless opportunities to imagine, experiment, and create, delving into the following engaging modules:

  • INNOVATION: Unleash the power of the claw by designing and building a mechanical claw machine with unique, self-created prizes. Campers will explore hands-on physics, learn about animals with claws, and even try their hand at entrepreneurship.
  • CREATIVITY: Discover the fascinating science behind optical illusions in various forms of art and entertainment. Campers will design, test, and invent their moving props, becoming experts in special effects.
  • PROBLEM SOLVING: Embark on the ultimate road trip, complete with a personalized transmitter and receiver, custom dashboard, and travel map. As innovative travelers, campers will navigate their path and invent solutions to unexpected “bumps in the road.”
  • PERSISTENCE: Take on an eco-expedition to Antarctica, investigating penguins and their icy habitat. With imagination and a robotic assistant, campers will develop prototypes to help penguins and the planet.

To make this enriching experience accessible to more families, Lincoln Elementary is offering partial scholarships to those with demonstrated financial need. Eligibility for the National Lunch Program, federal assistance, unemployment assistance, food stamps/food bank assistance, or significant expenses due to medical or personal disasters are examples of qualifying economic need.
