Traffic stop for turn signal violation leads to OWI arrest

ENGLISH – A routine traffic stop in Crawford County on Saturday evening, April 19th, resulted in the arrest of an English woman for operating a vehicle while impaired (OWI).

Indiana State Police Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy was on patrol near English when she witnessed a vehicle turn onto State Road 64 without signaling. Trooper Denk-Mundy initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Stacy Drake, 58, of English.

During the interaction, Trooper Denk-Mundy observed visible indicators of impairment. Subsequently, Drake was transported to the Crawford County Jail to undergo a chemical test. Following the test, Stacy Drake was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The arresting officer was Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy of the Indiana State Police. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

All criminal defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
