BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Commissioners have approved an installment payment to T&G Construction, the firm undertaking significant renovation work at the Lawrence County Courthouse and Courthouse Plaza. The project encompasses vital updates to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office within the courthouse and the Probation Department, located on the third floor of the Courthouse Plaza.
Commissioner Vice President Rodney Fish underscored the substantial nature of the undertaking, stating, “This is a big project. Renovations will include new carpet, drywall, painting, ceiling tiles, and more.” He further emphasized the need for improvements in the Probation Department, noting that the facility had not been renovated in over two decades.
The comprehensive scope of the renovations signals a considerable investment aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and overall environment of these key county facilities. The upgrades to the Circuit Court Clerk’s office are anticipated to streamline court processes. Meanwhile, the long-awaited improvements to the Probation Department are expected to create a more contemporary and appropriate setting for both staff members and the individuals they serve.
