BEDFORD – Nina A. Devillez, 31, of Santa Claus, IN, is facing attempted murder charges in Lawrence County for a November 2024 shooting. She was arrested in Kentucky on Monday following a police chase that began in Warrick County.

Devillez was out on a $20,000 bond related to the Lawrence County incident, where Devillez is accused of shooting Tommie K. Jones, 44, in a secluded area off US Highway 50. The 2024 incident involved conflicting accounts and 911 calls, with Jones claiming Devillez shot him after luring him to the location, while Devillez alleged self-defense following a claimed assault.
On Monday, Devillez was shot by law enforcement in Chandler, Indiana, after allegedly stealing a police vehicle. A pursuit ensued, ending in Daviess County, Kentucky, where Devillez crashed the stolen cruiser.
Kentucky authorities have charged Devillez with fleeing police, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Devillez will be extradited to Indiana to face these new charges, adding another layer to the ongoing Lawrence County attempted murder case. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is aware of Devillez’s recent arrest and its potential impact on their investigation.
