LOOGOOTEE—Visitors to the popular Loogootee City Park can now enjoy free public Wi-Fi, a new amenity launched through the collaborative efforts of several local organizations.
This initiative is part of a broader push to increase digital access within the community and enhance the overall experience of Loogootee’s public spaces. The newly installed WiFi network, aptly named “Public WiFi,” is readily accessible to all park visitors. To connect, users must select the network and enter Loogootee as the password.
The funding for this project was made possible through a $28,215 grant successfully secured by the Martin County Alliance. This grant demonstrates a commitment to digital inclusion extending beyond the park, as it also supported the purchase of new laptops for the Shoals Public Library. Furthermore, the remaining funds are earmarked for the future installation of free public WiFi at Loogootee’s upcoming downtown greenspace, promising even more digitally connected public areas for residents and visitors.
The introduction of free public WiFi at Loogootee City Park is expected to significantly benefit park-goers. Whether residents want to connect with friends and family, access online resources, work remotely in a pleasant environment, or enjoy streaming entertainment, the new network provides a convenient and cost-free solution.
