ORLEANS – The annual Dogwood Silent Auction, a key fundraising event for the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, has been relocated due to the tornado damage sustained by the OCC-Unity Hall. The auction will now be held at the Orleans Wesleyan Church Fellowship Hall on South Maple Street.
Despite the venue change, organizers anticipate that another impressive array of items will be available for bidding during the three-day event, which will run from Thursday, April 24th, through Parade Day on Saturday, April 26th.
The Dogwood Silent Auction is a vital “Fun-raiser” for the Orleans Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the auction play a crucial role in supporting the annual Dogwood Festival and various other community enhancements and projects throughout the year.
The Chamber is still welcoming donations for the auction. Individuals or businesses wishing to contribute items can drop them off anytime at the Orleans Town Hall. Donated items can also be picked up by contacting Leslie Padgett, the event chairperson, at 812-653-7593.
